But close my eyes for a while force from the world a patient smile

'There is really nothing you must be.
And there is nothing you must do.
There is really nothing you must have.
And there is nothing you must know.
There is really nothing you must become.

However. It helps to understand
that fire burns, and when it rains,
the earth gets wet...'
Robert Fulghum, It Was on Fire When I Lay Down on It

A simple hello could lead to a million things

We’re all a little weird. And life is a little weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutually satisfying weirdness—and call it love—true love.
Robert Fulghum, True Love

I've been thinking about a time, a time that we once knew been thinking for a while that it's here if we want it if we know what we wanted

"But what's he like?" Oh, God. This conversation was going to go on. "He's… like what I just said." "Personality-wise. Is he secretly a poet or something? Does he dance around his room when he thinks no one is looking? Is he funny, like you? What's his essence?"

You'll need heart and you'll need courage, we all need time so let's make time work for us, let's take our precious time about it

The Maccabees at Alexandra Palace 8/6/2012: η αγαπημένη μου μπάντα φέτος και το πιο ενθουσιαστικό λαιβ για την αρχή του καλοκαιριού. έπαιξαν όλα μου τα αγαπημένα τραγούδια εκτός από το cover τους για το 'just like the rain'.

But the night is not young enough we're not strong enough

After all that hearing, he writes, "I am exposed…cut by bitter and poisoned hail." That was perfect, I thought: you listen to people so that you can imagine them, and you hear all the terrible and wonderful things people do to themselves and to one another, but in the end the listening exposes you even more than it exposes the people you're trying to listen to.

Keep the past in the past and notice that I only ever did what I thought was right, keep the past in the past and notice me tonight

I keep thinking about this river somewhere, with the water moving really fast. And these two people in the water, trying to hold onto each other, holding on as hard as they can, but in the end it’s just too much. The current’s too strong. They’ve got to let go, drift apart. That’s how it is with us. It’s a shame, Kath, because we’ve loved each other all our lives. But in the end, we can’t stay together forever.
Kazuo Ishiguro, Never Let Me Go

So if you're lonely you know I'm here waiting for you, I'm just a crosshair I'm just a shot away from you

Franz Ferdinand at Field Day 2/6/2012: έβρεχε λίγο και χορεύαμε έξω από τον πολύ κόσμο με το 'walk away' και το 'do you want to'. στο αγαπημένο μου 'take me out' άρχισε να τρελαίνεται η βροχή αλλά δεν μας πείραζε.

You've seen the world what did it look like, you took a plane I'll take a push bike, run with the wolves calling all the wolf pack, when did you go and when did you get back?

The Vaccines at Field Day 2/6/2012: σαν πάρτυ, το καλύτερο απ'όλα.

This day was once silence before, all grace of lost can't wait at all and what ever comes through the door I'll see it face to face

Beirut at Field Day 2/6/2012: ο αγαπημένος μου Ζάκ έπαιξε τις τρομπέτες του και τραγούδησε πρώτα 'santa fe' με όλα τα ωραία να ακολουθούν.

But in our own space and in our own way I know we're getting older, every night and each day

Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck

After I died, so many things happened that I did not expect. The first was that I was there, inside my body, for a long time. I was at the bottom of the river, stuck in a thicket of sticks and logs, for six days. I was dead, but I was still there, and I could see out of my eyes. I could move around inside my body like it was a warm loose bag. I would sleep in the warm loose bag, turn around in it like it was a small home of skin and fur. I could look every so often through the bag’s eyes to see what was outside, in the river. I never saw much through the dirty water. Nick Hornby, Speaking with the Angel

I think i've kind of lost track of who I thought I was

It's never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There's no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you're proud of. If you find that you're not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.

And then we'll see what happens, we're just taking it each day as it comes

Anna: I can't go back. I mean, I have to be sad. We have so much fun and we can stay in bed all summer.
Jacob: Okay. Oh, man. Okay.
[they hug and kiss]

Your poetry is lonely and yet, you write to feel less alone

Breaking down that wall is the kind of story that might have a happy middle – oh, look, we broke down this wall, I'm going to look at you like a girl and you're going to look at me like a boy and we're going to play a fun game called Can I Put My Hand There What About There What About There. And sometimes that happy middle looks so great that you can convince yourself that it's not the middle but will last forever. John Green
