Said the words just as fast as I could, sometimes people just fade home

I have noticed that if you look carefully at people's eyes the first five seconds they look at you, the truth of their feelings will shine through for just an instant before it flickers away.

And then her heart changed, or at least she understood it; and the winter passed, and the sun shone upon her

Knowing can be a curse on a person's life. I'd traded in a pack of lies for a pack of truth, and I didn't know which one was heavier. Which one took the most strength to carry around? It was a ridiculous question, though, because once you know the truth, you can't ever go back and pick up your suitcase of lies. Heavier or not, the truth is yours now.
Sue Monk Kidd, The Secret Life of Bees

It is the peculiar nature of the world to go on spinning no matter what sort of heartbreak is happening

She gives him what he can only call a sweet smile. 'So you are determined to go on being bad. Mad, bad, and dangerous to know. I promise, no one will ask you to change.

I was moving through the silence without motion waiting for you, in a room with a window in the corner I found truth

The best moments in reading are when you come across something - a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things - which you had thought special and particular to you. And now, here it is, set down by someone else, a person you have never met, someone even who is long dead. And it is as if a hand has come out, and taken yours.

It always makes me proud to love the world somehow - hate is so easy compared

"I think she’s special. She doesn’t need anyone. Like that’s the thing. Even if we were together, she wouldn’t really belong to me. She doesn’t belong to anything. She’s off in her own world…"

I saw that my life was a vast glowing empty page and I could do anything I wanted

Happy. Just in my swim shorts, barefooted, wild-haired, in the red fire dark, singing, swigging wine, spitting, jumping, running—that's the way to live. All alone and free in the soft sands of the beach by the sigh of the sea out there, with the Ma-Wink fallopian virgin warm stars reflecting on the outer channel fluid belly waters. And if your cans are redhot and you can't hold them in your hands, just use good old railroad gloves, that's all. Jack Kerouac

Are you searching for an answer or just peace of mind?

Let nature do the freezing and frightening and isolating in this world, let men work and love and fight it off

What is that feeling when you're driving away from people and they recede on the plain till you see their specks dispersing? It's the too-huge world vaulting us, and it's good-bye. But we lean forward to the next crazy venture beneath the skies. Jack Kerouac

They were so in love with the world and so disappointed in every aspect of it, no path towards perfection

Unless it comes out of
your soul like a rocket,
unless being still would
drive you to madness or
suicide or murder,
don't do it.
unless the sun inside you is
burning your gut,
don't do it.

when it is truly time,
and if you have been chosen,
it will do it by
itself and it will keep on doing it
until you die or it dies in you.
there is no other way.

and there never was.

Now we keep where we don't know all secrets sleep in winter clothes with the one you loved so long ago, now he don't even know your name

True happiness is to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future, not to amuse ourselves with either hopes or fears but to rest satisfied with what we have, which is sufficient, for he that is so wants nothing. The greatest blessings of mankind are within us and within our reach. A wise man is content with his lot, whatever it may be, without wishing
for what he has not. Seneca

Just because I'm weak you can steal my dreams, you can reach inside my head and you can put your song there instead

To you who made me see things I could never see alone

Ύστερα κάθισα
και πέτυχα τ'αστέρια,
ένα ένα.
Charles Bukowski

Waiting on, invincible somewhere I know, the world is a beautiful thing I don't always adore it but I know what it means to feel love

And honey please don’t think I don’t miss you, don’t think I don’t think of you when we’re apart because I do dear. But if this goes wrong again, oh heaven forbid if this was how it was meant to fall, will you pretend that you know, steady as the morning and just go.

Baby we both know that the nights were mainly made for saying things that you can’t say tomorrow day

I’m not here to save anyone; those days are over. As a friend told me recently, ‘Date the person, not the potential.’ Have a life. Have dreams. Have ambition. Most of all, have the capacity to love and believe that you deserve it in return. Be your own person. Be self-possessed. Want me, don’t need me. I don’t want to carry you, I want to walk beside you. Be intelligent, but more importantly, desire to learn. Be warm, not needy. This isn’t to say we don’t all go through things and sometimes need, but there’s a difference. We’re talking about exception rather than rule. In short, I want to watch you at a distance in a crowded room and know I’m the luckiest guy there. unknown

All poets adore explosions, thunderstorms, tornadoes, conflagrations, ruins, scenes of spectacular carnage

I think we like to complicate things when it's really quite simple; find what it is that makes you happy and who it is that makes you happy and you're set.
